Apple sells 1 billion iPhones in less than 10 years….

Apple launched the first iPhone in 2007 expecting it to suit a relatively small market, with the Windows phones taking the major share of the market.  iPhone sales did start slowly, but in 2014 sales increased dramatically.

iPhones have spread around the world, particularly with the addition of new users, beyond their younger group of fans.

Despite this success, the system used by companies such as Samsung, Android, has proven to be even more successful, with probably double the number of users.

Let’s put these figures into perspective;

  • Population of Earth – 1805 – 1 billion
  • Number of cars – 2010 – 1 billion
  • PCs in use – 2008 – 1 billion

It is not that easy to reach 1 billion of anything!
