Apple’s 9.7-inch iPad Pro launches for £499

Apple has recently announced a new, a 9.7-inch iPad Pro. Prices for the new gadget start at £499.

Armed with a 12 megapixel camera, the new iPad has a more improved camera compared to the 8-megapixel camera that the 12.9-inch iPad Pro sports.  The new iPad’s camera can also do video recordings in 4K.

Apple first released the 12.7-inch iPad Pro in November 2015, and the new iPad Pro will be the smaller alternative to this one.

The new iPad Pro will have hard drive capacities of 32GB, 128GB, and 256 GB, making it the first iPad to have a 256 GB memory. The iPad’s Wi-Fi-only variety will be sold at £499 for a 32GB memory, £619 for a 128GB memory, and £739 for a 256GB memory. iPads that can use the mobile broadband service will cost £100 more.

Apple has also claimed that this version of the iPad is equipped with a “True Tone” display that allows for colour changes in order to help the display match with ambient lighting. According to Apple, the display of the new iPad is brighter than any other tablet that is out on the market today. Furthermore, compared to the iPad Air 2, the new one’s colour saturation is 25 percent greater.

At night, the new Pro’s “Night Shift” mode, which is included with iOS9.3, lessens the blue light level that the display gives off. According to Apple, this feature will help users get better sleep at night.

The new iPad Pro can be bought in either silver, space grey, black, or rose gold. The Wi-Fi version weighs 437 grams, and has the exact same weight as the iPad Air 2. Despite the size, it is equipped with a louder speaker that allows it to give out volumes that are twice as that of the iPad Air 2.

Like its bigger older brother, the new iPad Pro runs on a 64-bit A9X processor. Its front camera also has five megapixels and has Retina flash, which is useful for taking more well-lit selfies.

The 9.7-inch iPad Pro can be ordered starting 24 March and it will start going on sale by 31 March.
