Missing You Down Under

Missing you
so early
in the morning
when it's
still night
in this city
by the Harbour,

Missing you
in a cybercafe
surrounded by
the teenage Chinese
faces,
videogames,
twenty-four hour
arcades
and
fast
food
places

Convenience stores
one
on top
of another
The omnipresent
tacky
sights and smells
of the global
village

The loud voices
killing time,

Mouse happy,
keyboard happy,
over and over

And I miss you
on this screen
You know
what I mean...

I miss you
on this PC station
on George Street,
where Chinatown
begins
before
it begins

I miss you in this Far South
that's now
so close.
