Etka was a girl? In a body changing to the one of a woman, and in the search of which it identified it like so, without rolls, obligations beyond trying to survive... it was.
It was a beautiful and sunny day, for Etka that watched through its only window. Sitting in its bed observed the dawn and all the facts that with him arrived until their room. A always closed window in the wall, to a flank the bed and next to this one a wood furniture that Serbian him of bookseller, although rare time read more than the poem book that shortly before dying its father gave to him.
Within the furniture it kept a pair from shoes that would use when the blue turquess that used to newspaper spent of the almost intact sole by the carpet that covered in its totality the floor with the quarter which never it left. In front of the bed a full locker of wrists that received as birthday gift and kept without opening at least, could become ill if some material stranger were not suitably disinfected.
Etka watched most of the day after the window that it gave to a park not very concurred front, but with trees, birds and people who once in a while seated to talk in a bank that Etka observed and almost always she was empty, because when somebody noticed of sad the cautious one of Etka, it went away of the place intimidated by the weight of his sad eyes. It was shown to the window and it walked imitating to some lady who rambled someday by the park with her mascot, or with some of so many children who in front of their house played ball noon.
It was a girl in a woman body, to her 19 years, Etka not yet had left that quarter in which she remained locked up10 either 11 years ago back, as a result of which a rare disease destroyed the defenses to him, thus could not leave nor receive visits of no type, only saw through his door the silhouette of a robust woman to who Kaetina called. She who daily shouted to the hour of the bath and she to him undressed the mirror in front of to watch solely as its languid and pale body were changing with the passage of the years.
It read on so many things that it ignored of direct way by lack of experience, that when thinking about a kiss for example, something so known and common for the thickness of people, but that never had felt she really, and it did not hit upon to decipher absolutely the true meaning of those letters that contained those emotions catched, like when somebody it described the lips of the loved person, and of as with their natural smoothness grazed letting feel that rare internal heat.
Without getting to include/understand as something so beautiful could mean to her the death to him; then one imagined that the young person to which it observed kissing its fiancée on the park in that solitary bank, it kissed her and she was really happy. Certain day in that it remained slept between the reading, was seen on jumped by shouts and when rising of the bed showing itself by the window, it saw several children playing with a white ball that was new, listened then as they were ed ***reflx mng and saw as they sweated.
She almost never sweated - thought - but the red children of the face with the forehead pearled in sweat continued playing; engrossed he observed them to run to shout and to fall, to rise and to continue playing and running. One of those children kicked the ball strongly starring it with the window of Etka, that was made backwards but it did not avoid that one of glasses became engraved in the hand when leaving sudden flight to him towards its face by the impact.
And more surprised than scared it noticed that the wound was not very great, but bled abundantly, and the hand with a disinfected handkerchief was covered immediately and it seated to try to tranquilize itself, it could not make another thing that to be calmed because as the house were empty almost always and single she.
While the children scared by the broken glass, ran to hide themselves and one only remained to request excuses and sure the ball that had been introduced to the quarter of Etka. Already replaced of the astonishment he passed the ball to the boy, perceiving then for the first time the scent of the park, humid and fresh to grass just cut, eucalyptuses and pines still without knowing it.
This was the latest that Etka perceived, because the wound immediately became infected and when inhaling the contaminated air to him of the outside, fell ill in the bed and bathed in sweat by the high temperature it closed the eyes without fear or preoccupation.
Thus, shaking between the blankets and feeling something new finally he gave to Etka a last breathing of the air that so fast, and ingenuous, happily had killed it with a smile in the mouth. AIM (THE END)
