We cannot imagine if the scenes shown in the film ‘Jumanji’ come in real life. Most of you would have watched the Hollywood movie Jumanji in which two siblings play a magical game and because of one wrong move, the entire jungle ingresses into the city.
A likely scene was witnessed in an Indian town Siliguri where an adult female elephant was seen wandering in the streets on Feb 10, 2016. The elephant was in search of food when it lost the way and came out of Baikanthapur forest and entered the town, as quoted by Divisional Forest Officer Basab Rai.
Elephant, which is regarded as a god in the Hindu mythology, is considered as a sacred animal. However, the local residents were struck with panic after watching the world’s biggest land animal wandering in their town.
The female elephant did not attack anyone, and appeared to be afraid of them; although she trampled cars, motorbikes and bikes as she ran in disarray.
Eventually, the beast was tranquilized and captured by wildlife officials and then transported to a park for domesticated pachyderms, with the help of a crane.
