Spreadsheets – MS EXCEL

As we can see some parts are looking very similar to other Microsoft programmes; for example the Menu Bar and the Tool Bar.

There is a formula bar which is designed specifically for Excel and it is here that you can select mathematical formulas you may need.

There are a plethora of options and it is worth spending some time, exploring these, or watching a video on the many ways you can use Excel.

The main part is called the worksheet – it consists of a grid of rows and columns – where they intersect, we have a cell.  Each cell can be named, as in a grid position.  Check cell number A1 – in the top left hand corner.  There are essential for performing mathematical tasks.

At the bottom of the page there are 3 tabs – Sheet 1, Sheet 2, Sheet 3 – each worksheet contains these, and each can be labelled as you wish.
